College/Post Secondary School Search

Considering certain colleges but don't know if you'll have what it takes to get in?

1.  Research the college's admissions criteria, especially for your major!  Contact the admissions department and ask or check out their web site.
Remember that you would be looking for Prospective, Undergraduate, Freshman admissions information.
     Ex.  http://www4.esu.edu/admissions/undergrad_admissions/freshman/freshman_adm.cfm

       or  http://www.lhup.edu/admissions/apply/freshman_reqs.shtml

2.  Check out the profile of the previous year's applicants and see how they averaged and how you compare.
     Ex.  http://admissions.psu.edu/academics/majors/requirements/50percent/

       or  http://www.oafa.pitt.edu/stats.aspx

3.  Plan ahead for:
-Letters of recommendation (if optional or required)  Who will give you a good one in a timely manner?
     -Essays
-SAT & ACT scores   Do they need to be sent electronically like Penn State requires?  Do the scores get sent with your high school transcripts?)
-Actually completing the application and getting it all handed in and processed before the deadline for your major.
