The Talent Search program is called S.P.A.R.C. at some schools, which stands for Selecting Planning And Researching Careers. Talent Search is one of the TRIO programs funded by a federal grant through the Department of Education. The programís services are FREE.
Talent Search works to supplement guidance office services at various high schools in our target area (see Contact Us page for a list of the schools). It identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education. The program publicizes the availability of financial aid and assists participants with the postsecondary application process. Talent Search also encourages persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete postsecondary education. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education.
If you are over 18 years old or you are not at one of the schools where we provide services, you may still get free services from us at our http://www.eocinc.org site. Get free educational planning online or schedule an appointment at the office closest to you.
